A married fashion executive says he has made a concerted effort to get rid of his mysterious octogenarian boss with a passion for blondes.
Stephanie Copin, a 38-year-old mother, alleges in a new lawsuit that she was sexually assaulted by her boss Manny Haber, 83, on Manhattan’s Fleet Street.
When she was finally offered the coveted office, one worker even said, ‘This blonde girl gets what she wants from her father,’ according to a case filed in the Supreme Court- limo in Brooklyn on Friday.
The alleged abuse ended up being impossible – prompting Copin to dye his hair brown in an attempt to appear less attractive to the CEO and President of Fleet Street.
But his efforts got him attacked and fired, Copin says.
Stephanie Copin, 38, says in a new lawsuit she was sexually assaulted by her boss on Manhattan’s Fleet Street.
Copin claims in her lawsuit that the sexual harassment began when she began going to interviews and working at a coat manufacturer.
Haber did the interview, and the first thing he said to Copin was, ‘Oh, you’re [a] sight seeing,’ according to the lawsuit.
Throughout the interview, he often made comments like, ‘Do you have any friends like you? So you can bring company?’ it means.
After he finished asking Copin – and made him a sample of one of the coats – the vice president of sales started asking him too, and informed Copin, ‘He likes it when you do things for him, so keep doing that.
‘The last girl that was here had a problem with it,’ the vice president allegedly told Copin.
He was then hired as an account manager for The FRYE Company about a week later — and almost immediately after he started, Copin said he heard other employees of make comments like ‘Oh, how amazing, another blonde,’ and ‘Oh, she really has style.’
Copin said in the lawsuit that he was hired as an account manager at a Manhattan coat manufacturer in August 2023.
While he continued to work at the coat manufacturer, Copin said Haber would keep him in his office and he would put his hand on his lap and pretend he was watching or needed. to see better,’ the lawsuit says.
She also frequently commented on Copin’s looks, called her after work, asked her for drinks – which she always avoided – and regularly asked her to model clothes. external – using her model as an excuse to look at her breasts, it says.
Eventually, Haber even invited Copin back to his Brooklyn apartment, after an after-hours meeting at The Plaza hotel.
He told Copin that his driver would take him back to his home in Clifton, New Jersey, before taking him to his apartment, court documents say.
But instead, they arrived at Haber’s house, and he asked Copin to see his place – saying they couldn’t be together because the housekeeper was there.
Once inside, Haber allegedly asked Copin into his bedroom to show him his view of the city from his window.
He is then accused of exposing himself to Copin, and holding his hand, forcing him to touch his penis.
She says CEO and President Manny Haber will have her model in outerwear to show off her breasts.
Copin said that at first he panicked, before realizing that if he didn’t do anything, he might be raped.
Court documents say: ‘He pushed her and ran out of the room.
‘I was shaking, it was a blur for me when I left the building,’ he recounted to the New York Post.
‘I still didn’t understand what had happened to me. I just wanted to go home.’
But when he arrived at his home in New Jersey, he said, he couldn’t bear to look at his young son.
Copin said: ‘I went to the shower. ‘[Then] I hid in my room.’
She added that she decided not to tell her husband at the time, because she already suspected that he was cheating on her due to the lack of boundaries in Haber’s work – to including calling him after hours.
Copin was employed as an account executive for FRYE Company, according to the suit
After the incident, Copin said she cried several times at work – but the abuse didn’t stop, and Haber allegedly groped her in front of co-workers.
She said she finally asked Haber to stop asking her because ‘I love my job so much, and I don’t want this to interfere with my work.’
But he responded threateningly, saying, ‘It won’t do you any good, my love,’ according to court documents.
“He started being really mean to me,” Copin told the Post.
‘[He] he never acknowledged what he did, he never apologized. It was hard to go to him every day and look at him, and he was trying to put me in a position where he could touch me again and hold me.’
She said she ‘wanted to quit every day,’ noting that Haber began ‘humiliating’ her in front of her co-workers.
On November 16, 2023, during the trial, Haber fired Copin.
She said that earlier in the day, he called a company-wide meeting where he ‘taunted’ her and called her ‘incompetent’ in front of her colleagues.

Copin says the incident has ruined his life financially and personally.
She told the Post that she hasn’t been able to find work since then, and is now going through a divorce.
In the meantime, she is forced to seek medical treatment as she continues to cry at times and lacks confidence.
She also said that despite the fact that she was previously a bleached blonde, she has decided to remain a brunette because ‘I don’t even want to be looked at.’
His lawyer Mark Shirian said he and his client are now ‘seeking justice and accountability’ for his mistreatment at the company.
‘Stephanie bravely stood up against inappropriate advances and faced Mr. Haber’s pushback as a result,’ Shirian said.
‘This behavior is unacceptable and a clear violation of his rights.’
